Beebe Healthcare CEO steps down: 6 things to know

Lewes, Del.-based Beebe Healthcare President and CEO Jeffrey Fried left the role March 26.

Six things to know:

1. Mr. Fried assumed the top post at Lewes-based Beebe Medical Center, the organization’s primary facility, in 1995.

2. Prior to that, he was COO at Lancaster (Pa.) General Hospital.

3. He is a member of the American Hospital Association Regional Policy Board and a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

4. He is also chairman of the Delaware Hospital Association.

5. A spokesperson from the health system was unable to confirm to Becker’s Hospital Review Mr. Fried’s career plans following his departure.

6. Rick Schaffner, RN, Beebe’s executive vice president and COO, will take over as interim CEO.
