Bay Medical Center names Jan Thornton CNO

Jan Thornton, BSN, has become CNO of Panama City, Fla.-based Bay Medical Center, part of the Sacred Heart Health System, according to a Panama City News Herald report.

Ms. Thornton has 25 years of nursing leadership experience, most recently serving as CNO of River Region Health System, a 372-bed hospital in Vicksburg, Miss., that is part of Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems.

In addition to her BSN, Ms. Thornton holds a master’s degree in healthcare administration. She is also a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives.
