Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola (Fla.) named Rick Metzger, BSN, RN, president and CEO, effective Oct. 12.
Mr. Metzger has served as CEO of USA Health Providence Hospital in Mobile, Ala., since June 2024, first as interim CEO and then as permanent CEO beginning in October 2024, according to a Sept. 28 Ascension news release.
He previously served as vice president of operations and COO at Mobile-based Ascension Providence from 2016 to 2023.
At USA Health Providence Hospital, a 349-bed acute care hospital and level 3 trauma center, Mr. Metzger led efforts that generated more than $10 million in operational savings and oversaw a transition to a new EHR system.
He will succeed Will Condon, who was appointed CEO of Pensacola-based Ascension Sacred Heart Health System, effective July 1.
Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola is a 547-bed hospital.
