Here are five things to know:
1. Mr. Garofola has been serving as the hospital’s interim CEO since August 2016.
2. Prior to that, he was CEO of Lutheran Health Network’s Bluffton (Ind.) Regional Medical Center.
3. He previously served in the Indiana Army National Guard and was deployed to Bosnia in 2002 and, later, to Afghanistan.
4. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
5. He succeeds former Dupont Hospital CEO Chad Towner, who left to serve as president and CEO of Saint Joseph Health System in Mishawaka, Ind.
