Gila Regional Medical Center CEO Brian Cunningham steps down

Silver City, N.M.-based Gila Regional Medical Center CEO Brian Cunningham is resigning. “After living and serving in this area for over 20 years it is time to move on,” Mr. Cunningham said in a hospital statement.

The statement does not mention what Mr. Cunningham’s next move will be. He has worked at the medical center for 14 years and served as CEO for the past three years. During his tenure, the medical center accomplished a significant financial turnaround and achieved a four-star quality rating through CMS.

The hospital and its board will now focus on “a positive, productive transition of leadership over the next 60 days,” according to the statement.
