5 things to know about Longview Regional Medical Center's new CEO

Longview (Texas) Regional Medical Center has named Casey Robertson CEO, effective July 27, according to the Longview News-Journal.

Here are five things to know about Mr. Robertson.

1. Mr. Robertson has been CEO of Woodland Heights Medical Center in Lufkin, Texas, since 2010. 

2. Mr. Robertson will replace Jim Kendrick, who will leave his position at the end of July to serve as Network CEO for 10 Oklahoma hospitals affiliated with Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems. Longview Regional and Woodland Heights are owned by CHS.

3. During his tenure at Woodland Heights, Mr. Robertson oversaw the opening of the first neonatal intensive care unit in East Texas and led efforts to increase physician and employee satisfaction, according to the report.

4. Prior to joining Woodland Heights, Mr. Robertson was assistant CEO at North Oskaloosa Medical Center in Crestview, Fla. He also has worked in hospital administration in Alabama.

5. Mr. Robertson earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Texas A&M University in College Station and a master's degree in healthcare administration from Trinity University in San Antonio.
