Mr. Paugh announced Feb. 2 he will be resigning in April. Dr. Kelley is resigning to “pursue other opportunities,” while Dr. Gorby is retiring, both in spring of this year.
Mr. Paugh will assist with the upcoming CEO transition and fiscal year budget planning, Nash UNC Health Care’s interim CEO Ian Buchanan, MD, said in a statement, according to the report. L. Lee Isley, PhD, is slated to take over as president and CEO of Nash UNC in April.
Dr. Buchanan also added, “As we work through transition planning, we will continue to focus on increasing physician engagement with our organizational priorities of patient satisfaction, quality and safety and financial improvement. We thank Dr. Kelley and Dr. Gorby for their service to Nash. We will miss them personally and professionally, but we will use their departure as an opportunity to bring fresh perspectives and insights to our improvement efforts,” according to the Rocky Mount Telegram.
