12 latest hospital, health system executive retirements

Becker's Hospital Review reported on the following hospital and health system executive retirements in the last three weeks. They are listed below, beginning with the most recent.

1. Jon D. Braband, president and CEO of Glencoe (Minn.) Regional Health Services, is retiring in July 2018.

2. Oklahoma City-based Integris Health President and CEO Bruce Lawrence plans to retire at the end of the year.

3. Robert (Bob) Hemker, president and CEO of Escondido, Calif.-based Palomar Health, is retiring after nearly two decades with the organization.

4. Greenwich (Conn.) Hospital's Executive Vice President of Operations and Patient Care Services Sue Brown, MSN, RN, is retiring, effective Feb. 2, 2018.

5. Patrick Muldoon, president of Worcester-based UMass Memorial Medical Center, will retire from his position Jan. 31, 2018, the health system announced Nov. 1.

6. Michael Portacci, president of Division II Operations at Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems, will retire on Dec. 1.

7. Portland-based Oregon Health & Science University President Joe Robertson, MD, plans to retire Oct. 31.

8. Doug Crabtree, CEO of Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, is retiring, effective Dec. 31.

9. Cartersville (Ga.) Medical Center President and CEO Keith Sandlin will retire in January 2018.

10. MidMichigan Medical Center-Alpena President Karmon Bjella is retiring, effective July 1, 2018.

11. Stoughton (Wis.) Hospital President and CEO Terry Brenny is retiring, effective June 2018.

12. Richard C. Breon, president and CEO of Grand Rapids, Mich.-based Spectrum Health, plans to retire, effective Jan. 1, 2019.
