The Virtua Center for Innovation will centralize the development of healthcare technology and processes conceived by employees across the health system. Virtua officials said the center will serve as a space for employees to test and deploy new ideas related to apps, devices and workflow design.
As an example, Virtua officials noted the center will provide a pathway for employees experimenting with artificial intelligence and virtual reality in provider-patient communication.
“The Virtua Center for Innovation represents a strong new commitment by Virtua to develop significant advances in healthcare,” said Tom Gordon, senior vice president and CIO of Virtua. “It will foster an environment for healthcare professionals, partners and entrepreneurs to develop solutions that support new models of care, and serve patients with the best technology and tools.”
