Mr. Sherman, who maintains more than 20 years of experience in the intelligence community, most recently served as deputy director of the CIA’s Open Source Enterprise. He has also held various senior executive roles in the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency.
As CIO of the intelligence community, Mr. Sherman will report to National Intelligence Director Dan Coats. Raymond Cook previously held the CIO position from July 2015 until former President Barack Obama left office in January.
