The telemedicine program would allow the hospital’s psychiatrists to conduct evaluations with patients who are located off-site to decrease patient travel times.
Louis Josephson, the hospital’s president and CEO, told the Brattleboro Reformer that local emergency departments have already asked Brattleboro Retreat to provide telepsychiatry so patients can access evaluations without being transported to another hospital.
“We want to pilot it here internally, and then take it externally,” Mr. Josephson told the Brattleboro Reformer. “We’re very excited about doing that.”
