Shoshone Pharmacy — a telepharmacy, which is not affiliated with another hospital or clinic — opened December 2016. The telepharmacy, which is staffed by two technicians, allows an off-site pharmacist in Gooding, Idaho, to speak with patients via video consultation and to remotely approve orders. Once a technician receives this approval, they can dispense medication to the patient.

The Idaho Board of Pharmacy allows telepharmacies in towns that do not have a traditional, in-person pharmacy, according to Times-News.
