Eight things to know:
- Tech industry employment has increased by 175,700 jobs in 2022.
- Tech employment is on track to be 46 percent ahead of 2021 and 92 percent ahead of 2019.
- The unemployment rate for tech occupations is 2.3 percent compared to the national unemployment rate of 3.7 percent.
- There were 320,000 job postings for tech jobs in August.
- Tech opening opportunities included jobs in software development, engineering, IT support, IT project management, systems engineering and network engineering.
- The largest numbers of job postings occurred in professional, scientific and technical services, finance and insurance, manufacturing, information and retail trade.
- New York City, Washington, Dallas, Chicago and Los Angeles metro areas had the most job postings for tech positions.
- IT services and custom software development showed the largest growth in August with 14,400 workers.
