St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center, SUNY Upstate Medical University and Golisano Children’s Hospital are now all utilizing EHRs.
SUNY Upstate Medical University invested $70 million in switching over to the electronic system, but CEO John McCabe said it is worth it.
“I think in the long run this is a transformation in how we do medical care and how we collect information and protect our patients,” he said in the report. “Just the quality and safety spin-offs over time are well worth the investment now.”
