Survey: Most Facebook Users Don't Share Personal Health Information

Roughly 68 percent of Facebook users have not and would not share their personal health information on the social media site, according to a recent survey conducted by the Path of the Blue Eye Project.

The Path of the Blue Eye Project, an initiative to encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing among health marking communicators, also found that among users who don't share PHI, or "non-sharers," 86 percent believe that information is "no one's business but my own."

Thirty-nine percent of non-sharers stated that privacy concerns of strangers finding their PHI are a reason why they would not display health content, while 32 percent of non-sharers said they would be worried about marketers getting hold of their information.
