The SIU virtual visit is conducted through videoconferencing technology, set up at Taylorville Memorial Hospital. Patients who schedule appointments at Taylorville Memorial Hospital will be guided through a telehealth visit by an SIU-trained clinical telepresenter at the hospital. These virtual appointments encompass more than 15 medical specialties, including dermatology, neurology and plastic surgery.
Nina Antoniotti, PhD, executive director of telehealth and clinical outreach at SIU, told Herald and Review that the university’s telehealth technology is installed in 12 locations throughout Illinois.
