Revenue up, profit slightly down for McKesson in Q2 2016

While San Francisco-based McKesson posted a 10 percent growth in revenue for the second quarter of 2016 compared to the year prior, the healthcare services and IT company reported a slight dip in gross profit.

For the quarter ended Sept. 30, McKesson reported $48.76 billion in revenue, compared to $44.16 billion for the same quarter the previous year.

However, gross profit for the second quarter 2016 slightly fell from $2.86 million last year to $2.84 million this year.

Overall, McKesson is pleased with its performance in the first six months of its fiscal year. "I am confident in the strength and scale of our global value proposition for our customers and our manufacturing partners, and I am excited about the opportunities across our diversified portfolio of businesses," said John Hammergren, chairman and CEO of McKesson.
