GE Healthcare and Thomson Reuters researchers first demonstrated the approach to linking de-identified data for comparative effectiveness research in a presentation at the 2010 annual meeting of the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research. Teams from both organizations have developed algorithms which enable the de-identification of patient data without loss of utility.
