PhyMed CEO joins Center for Medical Interoperability board

The Center for Medical Interoperability named Marty Bonick to its board.

Mr. Bonick is CEO of PhyMed Healthcare Group, a physician-managed provider of anesthesia and pain management services, where he oversees 780 clinicians. He was previously president of division operations at Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems. He has also served as CEO of Jewish Hospital and senior vice president of operations at Jewish Hospital & St. Mary's Healthcare in Louisville, Ky.

The Center for Medical Interoperability was founded in 2015 and is a nonprofit research and development laboratory. It aims to enhance data sharing among medical technologies and systems.

"We are striving for plug-and-play interoperability in healthcare, meaning the technologies clinicians use to take care of people can seamlessly exchange information and be easily swapped out as needed, and nobody understands the need for that better than Marty," said Ed Cantwell, president and CEO of the center.
