Philips taps Merck to develop fertility treatment solutions

Royal Philips has tapped biopharmaceutical company Merck to develop digital solutions for fertility treatment built on advanced informatics and artificial intelligence-enabled ultrasound diagnostics, Philips said Jan. 14.

These technology-driven solutions aim to better inform patients and clinicians about fertility treatment and maximize chances of conception, Philips said.

"The journey for aspiring parents is sometimes a difficult one, and by collaborating with Merck, a world leader in fertility treatment, we aim to develop integrated digital solutions that improve the patient experience and can ultimately have a positive impact on health outcomes," Jeroen Tas, Philips chief innovation and strategy officer, said in a press release.
