The tool, called PEPID Connect, offers one portal with specialized resources for all departments of a hospital and all medical staff levels, including a resource for patients. The tool allows hospital administrators to embed institutional protocols directly into disease and medication information to improve adherence, according to a news release.

The software is available by subscription to individual healthcare professionals, systems, universities and EHR systems. PEPID says the tool will help foster interoperability across a hospital’s systems.

“We designed a system aimed at decreasing the learning curve for our clients and reducing the number of clicks it takes to reach the information they need,” said W. Edward Reynolds, PEPID’s CTO, in the news release. “We also enabled access to this central hub of information via the technology that works best for them, whether it be from a mobile device, tablet, workstation or even within their EMR system.”
