PatientPing adds new feature to help identify bundled payment model patients

Health technology company PatientPing is enhancing its care coordination platform by adding a “tagging” feature that helps clinicians identify patients who belong to bundled payment programs in real-time.

The new capability will tag patients belonging to a bundled payment cohort using a pre-defined and customizable set of criteria. Clinicians will receive notifications via PatientPing when such a patient is tagged. Additionally, the feature will help create a roster of patients by bundle payment episode. This will allow caregivers to track patient events post-discharge and ensure safe care transitions.

“Our solution activates the acute and post-acute network for hospitals that are taking on financial risks for these episodes and helps them reduce avoidable utilization,” said Jay Desai, founder and CEO of PatientPing.

With this new feature, PatientPing hopes to help hospitals and health systems participating in CMS’ Bundled Payments for Care Improvement Advanced initiative as well as other bundled payment models, such as the Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement model.
