ONC’s E-Consent Trial to Educate Patients on Sharing Health Information Electronically

The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology is planning the E-Consent Trial Project to help patients understand their choices in sharing electronic health information, according to an ONC contract (pdf).

The project aims to educate patients about whether and when their healthcare provider can share their health information electronically. The ONC has awarded a contract to APP Design to develop innovative ways to electronically implement patient choice policies.
