North Carolina payer backs Durham-based tech startup

TouchCare, a telemedicine service startup based in Durham, N.C., has received significant funding from Mosaic Health Solutions, the funding arm of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina, according to a News Observer report.

Mosaic Health Solutions invested $4 million in TouchCare, which TouchCare’s COO Tim Horan said should help them keep running for approximately two years, according to the report.

TouchCare is currently being tested at University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill and Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, according to the report.
