NIST seeks comments on cybersecurity guidelines draft

The National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence, a division of the National Institute of Standards and Technology, is soliciting stakeholder comments on the current draft of its guidelines for organizations to improve cybersecurity.

The draft guide aims to illustrate how healthcare providers can better protect their EHRs and patient data through storage and device security. The NCCoE also directs providers to commercially available, open source products that can be used to implement the strategies outlined in the guide.

Instructions for commenting are found here. The comment period will close Sept. 25, 2015.
