NIH awards $20B contract to boost federal IT

The National Institutes of Health has awarded $20 billion to 65 vendors as part of its CIO — Commodities and Solutions Government-wide Acquisition Contract, according to FedNewsRadio.

The five-year contract is awarded to companies who support the full range of federal IT needs, particularly those that support healthcare agencies like NIH and HHS, according to the report.

The contracts will support federal agencies that seek to acquire and implement IT sources. According to NIH, those who have been awarded contracts have developed secure solutions for federal agencies and initiatives.

According to FedNewsRadio, seven of the contracts are original equipment manufacturers and the rest are “value-added resellers.”
