NFL to Implement Electronic Health Record for Athletes

The National Football League is moving away from paper medical records by adopting an electronic health record solution from eClinicalWorks.

According to the release, the NFL is adopting EHRs in order to streamline healthcare across its football programs and to coordinate care for the professional athletes.

“[The NFL is] always looking for innovative ways to enhance healthcare within the organization. [EHRs] are the next logical step and we look forward to partnering with eClinicalWorks on this initiative,” said Anthony Yates, MD, president of the NFL Physicians Society and member of the EMR Committee for the National Football League.
