The Mass HIway is a health information exchange system that aims to offer clinicians, hospitals, laboratories, pharmacies and other healthcare organizations a way to securely and seamlessly transmit vital data electronically. To achieve this goal, all medical providers in Massachusetts are required by law to connect to a health information exchange that is part of the Mass HIway network by 2017.
As part of the partnership, providers utilizing NextGen Share, NextGen’s health information systems program, will be enabled to exchange crucial patient information with the more than 350 organizations already connected to the Mass HIway.
NextGen Share includes a searchable provider directory, message translation between supported formats and the ability to exchange clinical data files.
