The New York Genome Center brings together analytics, bioinformatics, computing and genome sequencing to translate genomic research into new clinical therapies. Similarly, the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology Integrated Cancer Center focuses on commercializing engineering and clinical research to create diagnostic tools and treatments for cancer patients.
The goal of the partnership, according to Gov. Cuomo, is to accelerate the clinical applications of biomedical research, including genomics and personalized medicine.
Gov. Cuomo’s announcement follows a New York State-Israel Economic Development working lunch in Jerusalem, Israel, with Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat and Israeli business leaders.
