Meditech offers Access Passport e-signature to streamline patient consent

Access, a Meditech partner and electronic forms management company, offers an e-signature platform to improve procedural consent and facility workflow.

The solution, called Access Passport, eliminates multiple paper consent forms by allowing the nurse to present an e-form to a patient and surgeon, who can apply their electronic signatures simultaneously. Because Access Passport integrates with Meditech’s Web EHR, the e-form is directly sent into the patient’s electronic chart.

Two healthcare facilities — Hilo Medical Center in Hawaii and Graham Health System in Canton, Ill. — have rolled out Access Passport.

“Right now we have manual processes for consent to treat, procedural consents and other consent forms,” said Jim Schreiner, CIO at Graham Health System. “Deploying Access alongside Meditech 6.15 gives us the chance to bring more consistency to these processes and to make things easier for our patients.”
