IBM has unveiled imaging tools from Watson Health and the IBM company Merge Healthcare. These tools leverage machine learning and artificial intelligence work to help healthcare providers pursue personalized approaches to patient diagnosis and treatment.
Here are three highlights:
1. A physician support tool that integrates imaging data with other types of patient data, in an effort to help doctors personalize healthcare decisions for each patient.
2. An app that helps emergency room physicians diagnose trauma patients suffering from a stroke or brain bleed; the app rapidly reviews the patient’s records for relevant information.
3. A peer review tool that uses cognitive computing to reconcile differences between a patient’s clinical evidence and the data documented in a patient’s electronic health record.
