At its sixth Annual Health Policy Meeting, the AMIA identified several limitations to current data capture and documentation systems, including data overload, documentation redundancies and data entry inefficiencies. AMIA is refining its proposed guiding principles for clinical data capture and documentation and its proposed attributes for high-quality clinical information. The association plans to release policy recommendations that would more effectively support these processes through technology.
