MD Insider closes $12M funding round: 5 things to know

MD Insider, a big data-driven healthcare technology company, has closed a Series B funding round led by Summation Health Ventures.

Here are five things to know.

1. The funding round leader Summation Health Ventures is an investment fund created by Cedars-Sinai Health System, based in Los Angeles, and MemorialCare Health System, based in Fountain Valley, Calif.

2. The $12 million funding round also had participation from existing investors Jason Ader, Gary Winnick, Tim Ferriss and Michael Fertik.

3. The funding will be used to support the company’s expansion, sales and marketing initiatives.

4. MD Insider offers a big data solution focused on physician performance transparency.

5. The company’s solution has analyzed health records covering more than 250 million patients, 850,000 physicians, 6,000 hospitals and 30,000 diseases and conditions.
