The municipal government of Clear Lake, Iowa, has officially conferred the right to development of a warehouse facility on McKesson.

The original developer, Windmill Realty, was a placeholder during the initial negotiations for the development agreement and financial incentives so McKesson’s identity could remain private. McKesson was revealed as the developer in February after the state development board approved $4.4 million in state incentives for the $65 million project, according to the Mason City Globe Gazette.

To qualify for state incentives, the company must pay employees a starting wage of at least $14.79 per hour. The facility is expected to create 164 new jobs and have an annual payroll of $6.5 million, creating 75 jobs by Oct. 1, 2016, according to the report.

McKesson has announced that several smaller plants in LaCross, Wis., Little Canada, Minn., and Omaha, Neb., will close by May 2017 and affect 230 employees as a result of the construction of the 340,000-square-foot facility in Clear Lake, according to the report.
