Three details:

1. The new flu surveillance data dashboard includes weekly updates on year-over-year comparisons for the flu vaccination. The dashboard reports data from emergency departments, urgent care providers, community-based providers and clinical labs. It also has information about inpatient hospital stays.

2. The dashboard breaks down flu vaccination by gender, race, ethnicity, age and county.

3. The MDH Public Health Laboratory and 50 clinical laboratories in the state conduct the lab surveillance each week to report the total number of flu tests and results. The Maryland health department also gathers information on lab-confirmed flu-associated hospitalizations.
