Jeff Frieling, vice president and CIO of Jackson-Madison County General Hospital’s parent company West Tennessee Healthcare, , told The Jackson Sun the clinical information system will allow the hospital to have a centralized server and standardized work stations. The “virtualized desktops” also introduce a new level of security, as no patient health information will be stored on the individual workstations.

The hospital will have initial funding for 200 new workstations, totaling $416,250 in costs, and will consider additional desktops and funding in the future, according to the report.
