In its 2015 National Progress Report, Surescripts outlines advancements in interoperability on its network. The 9.7 billion transactions last year was a 48 percent increase over the number of transactions in 2014.

More specifically, Surescripts facilitated 1.05 billion medication history exchange transactions last year, up 23 percent from the year prior. Surescripts estimates interoperability efforts related to medication reconciliation saved hospitals more than $400 million last year in time, reducing adverse drug events and reducing readmissions.
