Chattanooga, Tenn.-based CHI Memorial is changing its name to CommonSpirit Health to align with its parent health system, the Chattanooga Free Press reported.
The three-hospital system will begin altering its logo and signage to that of Chicago-based CommonSpirit in the coming months, according to the Nov. 3 story. Englewood, Colo.-based Catholic Health Initiatives and San Francisco-based Dignity Health merged in 2019 to become CommonSpirit, which has since started putting the brand on its 138 hospitals.
“As we formally adopt the CommonSpirit name, we also recognize and respect the deep local connections and community trust that have been built over time through generations of interactions and experiences,” Janelle Reilly, CommonSpirit market president for Tennessee and Georgia, stated to the news outlet. “We are simply uniting under one shared name to better reflect a connection to a larger national health system, but the local team and its dedication to this community are constant.”
The hospitals will now be called CommonSpirit Memorial Hospital Chattanooga, CommonSpirit Memorial Hospital Hixson (Tenn.), and CommonSpirit Memorial Hospital North Georgia (located in Fort Oglethorpe, Ga.), per the story.
