The award program’s judge’s panel includes nine female leaders in health IT. The Most Influential Women in Health IT Awards ceremony will be held in during fall 2016.
The new awards program is part of a larger HIMSS initiative aimed at addressing the gender gap in health IT. HIMSS will offer a number of other initiatives for women including:
• HIMSS16 Annual Women in IT Networking Reception
• HIMSS16 Women in Health IT Roundtable
• A monthly eNewsletter featuring content dedicated to women
• Most Influential Women in Health IT special August Issue of Healthcare IT News
• A special section dedicated to women in Healthcare IT News
• Publishing research on gender-based assessments of career compensation
