Healthcare data analytics firm acquires Geisinger's clinical workflow software

Data analytics software development firm CrossBridge Health recently acquired patient monitoring software developed by Danville, Pa.-based Geisinger, the companies announced July 13.

Eric Newman, MD, director of rheumatology at Geisinger, developed the health system's patient monitoring and clinical workflow software, Patient Centric Electronic Redesign, or PACER, as a primary care tool for rheumatology.

The PACER software collects and analyzes data from patients, providers and the EHR to improve patient care and communication.

"Our digital transformation team has partnered with rheumatology leadership for years to design and develop a product that has been fully integrated into routine care delivery," Rebecca Stametz, vice president of digital transformation at Geisinger's Steele Institute for Health Innovation, said in the news release. "We are excited for CrossBridge to create the next phase of PACER within their platform to help serve patients nationally and with other chronic conditions."

CrossBridge will continue to support Geisinger's rheumatology care while adding PACER as a component of its patient care and analytics software. In addition to rheumatology, CrossBridge's platform also serves patients with chronic inflammatory diseases in gastroenterology, neurology and dermatology.
