The implementation of the new master’s programs is part of Harvard’s new Data Science Initiative, which aims to bring together data science efforts across the university and encourage collaboration in research and teaching.
The initiative has also launched the Data Science Postdoctoral Fellowship program as well as the Data Science Initiative Competitive Research Fund.
“The ability to apply the power of new analytics and new methodologies in revolutionary ways makes this the era of data science and Harvard faculty have been at the forefront of this emerging field,” said Harvard Vice Provost for Research Rick McCullough.
The health data science master’s degree programs will launch this year.
