The Healthcare Association of New York State has expressed its support of The Equal Access and Parity for Multi-Campus Hospitals Act, which was designed to change how incentive amounts are determined for hospitals that share a Medicare provider number under the Medicare and Medicaid Electronic Health Record Incentive Programs, according to a HANYS news release.

Representatives Eliot Engel (D-N.Y.) and Charles Rangel (D-N.Y.), along with their colleagues Representatives Michael Burgess, MD (R-Texas) and Kevin Brady (R-Texas) developed and introduced this legislation.

The multi-campus hospital bill would recognize hospitals that may share a Medicare provider number with other facilities. In New York alone, 46 hospitals are represented by 20 Medicare numbers.
