With Pixel, Google wanted to not only control its device’s hardware and software, but also incorporate artificial intelligence. Each Pixel is equipped with Google Assistant, which is similar to Apple’s Siri, according to The New York Times.
“The goal is to build a personal Google for each and every individual,” said Google CEO Sundar Pichai, according to the report.
The tech giant also revealed Google Home, its version of the Amazon Echo, at the press event.
Pixel is now available at Verizon and Best Buy stores for a $649 starting price. Google Home will be available in November for $129.
