The two companies have legal battles pending in the European Union, Argentina, Brazil, Canada and India, according to the report. The companies’ chief executives called for a truce Friday.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and Google CEO Sundar Pichai reportedly have a more cordial relationship than previous executives, according to the report.
“Our companies compete vigorously, but we want to do so on the merits of our products, not in legal proceedings,” a Google spokesperson told WSJ. “As a result…we’ve now agreed to withdraw regulatory complaints against one another.”
