Under the agreement — which is part of the Egyptian government’s efforts to improve public healthcare services — GE Healthcare will provide the country with 700 technological units. These units will include the company’s Discovery IQ PET/CT scanner and its cSound cardiovascular imaging platform.

GE Healthcare also plans to train more than 1,200 Egyptian physicians, technicians and nurses to operate these technologies.

The company, which has already distributed more than 400 of these units to Egypt, expects to complete the delivery and installation processes by the end of 2017.
