Clarity Child Guidance Center — a mental health facility for children — now uses the fingerprint-based system to login to their electronic medical records system.
CCGC IT director Chris Hooge explained the system’s main benefit was eliminating the problem of forgotten passwords which had been a significant drain on staff resources, according to FindBiometrics. “[The transition] is easier for staff and saves hours of helpdesk time each week.”
The integration reflects a growing trend in the healthcare market with biometric authentication allowing enhanced access control for digital medical records.
