EMTs Blame Wireless Tablet System for Slower Reponses Times

Emergency medical technicians in New York City say a new tablet-based wireless records system is lengthening emergency response times, according to a report in the New York Post.

The EMTs claim the wireless tablets, into which they now enter vital patient information, often freeze when the wireless signal is weak or unavailable, delaying response time and care delivery, according to the report.

A spokeswoman from the New York City Fire Department denies the EMTs’ claims, according to the report.
