HIMSS Analytics, a subsidiary of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, uses eight-stage benchmarking models to determine hospitals’ progress with implementing various healthcare information technology functions.
HIMSS Analytics EMR Adoption Model runs from Stage 0 to Stage 7, with Stage 7 denoting the highest designation.
“Hendrick Health System is one of 63 organizations to achieve HIMSS EMR Adoption Model Stage 7 using the latest Stage 7 standards,” said Paul Black, Allscripts CEO, according to the news release. “This makes them one of the top 1.14 [percent] of hospitals to achieve this status.”
Hendrick Health System uses Allscripts Sunrise EHR system. The nonprofit health system comprises a 540-bed medical center and more than 3,000 employees.
