Oracle Health Information Network, a subsidiary of Oracle, has been named a Qualified Health Information Network under the federal Trusted Exchange Framework and Common Agreement.

The designation places Oracle among a select group of organizations approved to exchange health data nationwide under TEFCA, a government-backed effort to standardize and secure information sharing among providers, payers and public agencies.

Oracle said in a Nov. 20 news release that the move gives its hospital and health system customers a single connection point for broader interoperability, eliminating the need to join multiple exchange networks. Participation is free for existing Oracle Health customers.

With the designation, Oracle Health joins Epic Systems, whose Epic Nexus network became a federal QHIN in 2023.
