Meditech is unveiling several new AI features within its Expanse EHR system at its annual customer event.
The new initiatives include MyHealth assistant, a chatbot in the patient portal that can summarize health information and help patients schedule appointments. For clinicians, Meditech is introducing a chatbot embedded in the EHR workflow that supports conversational interaction with the chart.
Another tool will add voice interaction capabilities to the Expanse Now mobile app, allowing physicians to hear a summary of their upcoming schedule and key patient details to prepare for visits, according to a Sept. 16 news release.
The company is also developing AI agents to support billing and operational tasks, such as claim denial management and autogenerated dashboards.
